IOM is amongst the UN agencies at the forefront of prioritizing the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH).
In Burundi, in an endeavor to reduce and mitigate SEA risks, a dedicated full time PSEA Officer has been appointed, making IOM Burundi one of the pioneering agencies from the UN Country Team in this regard. Aligned with IOM's PSEA policy implemented since 2021, IOM Burundi upholds highest standards of integrity, safeguarding the security and well-being of personnel, partners, and beneficiaries. Our commitment to SEA is evident through comprehensive prevention strategies, proactive risk mitigation measures, and responsive actions integrated throughout all stages of our programming and interventions to ensure that our operations uphold a safe and respectful environment for all.
